EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS
Dancer patients at Lincoln Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab have treatment sessions that include specialized equipment not found at other PT clinics. This includes a mini-studio area with a double portable barre and marley floor, as well as a Pilates Reformer. The mini-studio helps dancers simulate the studio and stage as they recover from injuries. The Reformer provides an advantage of low-impact full body conditioning while improving body awareness, movement control, core strength and flexibility.
Brooke Peterson, DPT
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Brooke combines evidence-based rehabilitation with firsthand experience as a lifelong dancer. Her background includes years of competitive all-star dance training in pom, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary dance. Brooke continued her dance career as a four-year member of The Ohio State University Dance Team, where she competed at the collegiate level. Her unique combination of clinical expertise and performance experience allows her to deliver personalized, movement-focused care that helps patients return to doing what they love.
As an active dance instructor and choreographer, Brooke remains closely connected to the dance community and understands the unique physical demands dancers face at every level - from recreational classes to collegiate competition. Her goal is to help dancers optimize performance, prevent further injuries, and empower patients to achieve their highest potential.
